YouTube ‘working to fix’ PewDiePie channel

Rumors of a clear “shadowban” of YouTube’s biggest individual creator started swirling today, following reports of strange issues surrounding PEWDIEPIE CHANNEL.

Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg, the owner of
                             PEWDIEPIE CHANNEL

When viewers attempted to look PewDiePie on YouTube, his channel wouldn't appear. Videos within the top results also attended be from a year ago or longer. Finally, Kjellberg himself posted on the community tab of his channel, stating that his latest video apparently wasn’t getting to people’s sub-boxes. Kjellberg didn't return an invitation for comment.

While a number of these issues, like inconsistent notifications, are things that plague YouTubers from time to time, having all of them happen directly led to news channels and social media commentators saying Kjellberg had been “shadowbanned” from the service somehow. These shadowban claims attracted thousands of shares and interactions. The gist put forth by some was that YouTube was trying to bury its biggest (and sometimes controversial) creator.

As of Thursday afternoon, a number of these issues appear to possess been resolved — while an enquiry by Polygon earlier returned mostly old PewDiePie videos, now his most up-to-date uploads populate the highest of the results.

PewDiePie has the foremost subscribers on the whole platform with 154 million. His channel also boasts over 26 billion views on all of the videos he's been uploading since 2010. there is no sign of him slowing down, either, unless YouTube really is trying to maneuver viewer attention elsewhere.

YOUTUBE DENIED ALLEGATIONS:

Despite the claims, YouTube have taken to Twitter to deny allegations that that they had ‘shadowbanned’ PewDiePie’s channel.

They said:

“YouTube doesn’t shadowbox channels. It’s possible the video was flagged by our systems as potentially violative & must be revived first before it shows up in search.”

YouTube argued that it could are a drag with PewDiePie’s new video that caused it to not show up in searches, and everything has now returned to normal.
